Bridal Shows... I like them

Not everyone likes to work Bridal Shows, I do. I like meeting people and trying to make a connection. To me its that connection that can get you the sale. If you can get a bride to click with you, to feel comfortable, and to start to communicate her needs and start to see how we, DPP, can fit into their plan. Then you have the start of something good.

I think its that ability to fit in, to adapt, to go with the flow and think on our feet that sets us a part, but its hard to sell that point. Its a big plus to working with us, DPP photographers will be the last thing you need to worry about. As a bride, I think, eliminating the worry about working with your photographer would be a huge relief.

There are many reasons to go with Digital Party Pros. First off, we shoot in pairs. I just can't image trying to shoot a wedding alone. The bride and the groom in most cases are completely separate, and don't want to see one another. Ummmmmmm, PROBLEM if you are by yourself. Its just a plain old fact that things will be missed. On a photography level, I think its nice to have two people, one catching the up close photos, like the ring on the finger, and the other photographer getting the wide shots of the whole setting.

Another unique DPP feature, we can print the photos right at the reception. All the photographs taken during the ceremony and portrait sessions are sorted down to the best few. Those selected pics are put on a screen playing a slide show. Your guests (per family unit) can walk right up and pick the photo they want to take home, as a gift or keepsake from the bride and groom. It wraps the cost of a favor right into your photography costs. WIN-WIN!! and your guests will never forget it!

The third reason to go with DPP is us giving the copyright release to you at the reception along with the discs of your images. Nowhere do you get your wedding pictures on the same day. You can make copies, scrapbook, or create your own masterpiece from the thousands of images you will receive before we even leave the reception. Retouches and creations for your wedding album and DVDS will be available for purchase or download later.

Our retouching and custom creations are fantastic. Whatever you can dream up, our graphic artists can accommodate your needs. Removing blemishes, backgrounds, tweaking colors, creation collages....basically there will be a whole new select set of images on your own private website. You can share these images via the web link and password with anyone in your family, bridal party, or friends far away. Ordering prints and/or digital downloads are available as well.

Well, I must be in full bridal show mode......I just ran through my sales pitch :)

Bridal Show Season

January and February, Bridal Show season for Digital Party Pros. After all the holiday engagements, people are looking to book a photographer. Many out of state couples and just people living "out of area" use the web to find a photographer and luckily, they find us. http://www.digitalpartypros.com

I'm pretty proud of my website, I did it myself and I try to change it at minimum once a year, just to keep it fresh (I'm changing it NOW!). This year we updated our Wedding Gallery, Family Portrait Gallery, and Maternity/Baby Gallery. We updated the content a bit too, and the addition of the blog should help things as well. All to get the word out about DPP. People can even like us on Facebook.

We are lucky to have four photographers with DPP, including me, makes it nice cause we always shoot in pairs. I can't image trying to cover the entire wedding myself. Shooting with someone just makes it possible for more of the action to be captured in pictures. We can also double book a date now, and each team can fully handle their wedding with ease.

New this year, DPP will still be putting ALL PHOTOS on disc with the copyright release, however people will only get photos taken the day of the wedding - straight out of our camera, no retouching or tweaking. The photos we "create" and "tweak" and "retouch" will be uploaded to a private photo website for purchase of prints, canvas, wall art, and even digital download of the images.

Also this year we are going to start offering a $500 upgrade to all our wedding packages for a "deluxe leather" wedding album. This is the large, heavier, leather bound, album with prints mounted to the page. It's a great looking book, and will offer an upscale album to our packages. Our tradition "coffee table" book is the main offering but it will be nice to offer people a different style wedding album to preserve they special day.

Other than some sprucing up of prints and find laying out the booth in a nice way, we are ready for our first bridal expo of the season on Sunday January 16 from noon-5pm at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Williamsport, PA. See you there, and see you at a wedding in 2011.

2010 The Year That was for DPP

2010...quite a year. DPP grew leaps and bounds in Family portrait, newborn and maternity sessions. Much to the credit of Jaime, we are just booming in those areas. Wedding bookings are terrific and to me are just a fun gig. I love doing weddings.
Photography truly is all about seeing things in a different way and being able to show that view in a pleasing way. Jaime has the gift, especially with mothers and newborns. Check out the gallery of DPP work. GALLERY
Senior portraits is an area DPP plans to grown in 2011. This is such a fun session for us, cause the sky is the limit. ANYTHING GOES! And we love to have fun, so its a perfect match for our photography style. Plus we have time to be creative and that just makes the whole experience enjoyable. Fun, smiles, and fantastic photography.
DPP also made a great friendship this year with Tom at AcePhoto. What a fabulous guy!!! And because of him DPP will be getting into some sports and possible preschool photography. I'm looking forward to adding this services to our list and we Tom's guidence we'll be able to pull this off without a hitch. In Tom's words, "Wedding photography is like gorilla warfare, sports and classroom photography is about getting yourself setup right because you have the time, then moving people through the picture process as quickly as possible. Strive to hear people say, "are we done already?""
Much much more will be coming for DPP in 2011. Stay tuned......

About Us

Digital Party Pros is a photography service provider covering Central Pennsylvania. We do a lot of Family, Baby, Maternity, and Senior Portraits, but mostly we do Weddings. DigitalPartyPros.com

We started back in 2005, did a family member's wedding in Milton, PA at my childhood Church. St. Andrews United Methodist Church.

My cousin Noelle got married and wanted to do it on a tight budget. I had always taken pictures and loved photography. I was involved in the newspaper and high school yearbook as a photographer and continued as a life long interest. So I decided that I could definitely photograph her wedding, but I was nervous.

First thing I decided was that I didn't want to do the photography myself. A two person approach would be best just to make sure we got all the important parts of the wedding on two cameras. I'm a canon girl, so that was my weapon of choice.

It was such a great experience, I almost feel bad now, because I have learned so much now in the last 5 years. My photography then versus now is completely different. Then again, I didn't charge any money, and I learned a ton and got the bug for wedding photography. Cut to 5 years later and now there are 4 photographers and 2 different geographic locations being serviced by my brainchild, Digital Party Pros.

I have two distinct ideas to set Digital Party Pros apart. One, I hate the snobby, stuffy nature of professional photographers, I AM NOT LIKE THAT. I truly feel that its not my wedding, the pictures I like and those I discard will not match up with the bride and groom's perspective. I want to hand all the photos over and let them decide. So, we leave the wedding after burning all pictures on disc and giving them to the bride and groom. Hand them all over, so they can decide. That's the philosophy DPP believes in.

Two, I thought it would be cool to utilize the terrific printer technology available and actually print photos at the reception. The photos we took at the wedding were available for people to come up and choose and take one home as a keepsake. A little photo treasure to go home with the guests to remember the special day.

We were a big hit!!! People couldn't believe we were printing AT THE RECEPTION and they could take them home FREE of charge. Makes me laugh just thinking about it. We were so green, but I have to say it was a terrific experience and prompted me to launch Digital Party Pros.
